Jordan Henderson has raved about the ‘fantastic’ Thiago Alcantara and how everyone can see how good his qualities are in Liverpool colours.
The Liverpool captain added that when he was younger, he played against Thiago, but he ‘couldn’t get near him’, as he told Premier League Productions (19/04/22 at 10:10 pm).
On Tuesday night, the 31-year-old probably produced his best performance since joining Liverpool from Bayern Munich.
The Spanish midfielder ran the show as the Reds outclassed, out-thought, out-fought and toyed with a Manchester United side that seemingly wanted to head for the Anfield exit door after five minutes.
After coming up against Thiago during his younger days, Henderson is now playing alongside the expert technician and he is loving every minute of it.
“He’s a fantastic football player,” said Henderson. “We don’t have to speak much about him. You can see how good he is.
“Technically. His awareness. What Thiago has done in his career. I can remember playing against him when I was really young and I couldn’t get near him.
“So, to play in the same side as him now is a pleasure for me.”

Thiago’s debut season in England’s top-flight was a bit of a slow burner, but it was understandable given that there were so many injuries around him.
Now that he is playing in a settled and more balanced Liverpool team, he is finding life pretty easy, well it looks that way.
There aren’t many midfield players in the Premier League that have his vision, touch, and passing ability.
He is a big reason why this Liverpool steam train is pushing for all four trophies heading into May, which in itself, is a remarkable achievement.
