Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp challenged his squad to win every single game between now and the end of the season.

Jordan Henderson has responded to Jurgen Klopp’s challenge to the Liverpool squad to try and win every game between now and the end of the season, the Daily Mirror reports.

After overseeing just one victory in their previous 10 games in all competitions, Klopp suggested ahead of the Premier League clash with Tottenham at the weekend that the squad need to target winning every single fixture.

And while there is a long way still to go, the Reds made a tremendous start as they beat Spurs 2-0 at Anfield to move within three points of second spot in the division. And Henderson confirmed that they are taking the gauntlet that Klopp put in front of them very seriously.

“That is the aim,” he said, as reported by the Mirror.

“From day one we’ve said the aim is to win every game. Sometimes it is not possible but that’s our aim and our aim is to do that from now until the end of the season,” he explained.

“We have fantastic quality in the team, great mentality and great character, but it is no good me saying that it is up to us to show that from now until the end of the season.

While it was not exactly flawless, Liverpool have already shown that they can put together a 15-game unbeaten run this season, having avoided defeat from late August until December.

In that run, they dropped points on just three occasions. And although that run included EFL Cup games against three Championship sides, the streak will surely boost their chances of doing something similar to end the campaign.

It will surely give them a better chance of finding the mindset they will need to put together a perfect run. And while it may not be enough to catch Chelsea this time around, it must be noted that collecting all 39 points still on the table would give Liverpool a points total that would have been good enough to clinch the title in each of the last three years.
