Liverpool moved into the top four in the Premier League table last night by beating Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor.

The Reds saw Leicester City lose to Chelsea on Tuesday evening, so knew that a victory would send them into the Champions League places.

Jurgen Klopp’s men responded with a comfortable win, with Roberto Firmino opening the scoring in the first half.

Nat Phillips added a second after the break, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain coming off the bench to bag a third.

That means Liverpool’s fate is now in their own hands; a win over Crystal Palace on the final day will seal a Champions League place which looked very unlikely not too long ago.

Last night’s win was a big one, and Phillips earned huge praise having racked up nine clearances, nine aerial duels won, two blocked shots, two tackles won… oh, and the goal.

The defender was branded ‘colossal’ by Liverpool’s official Twitter account, and Jordan Henderson joined in the praise.

Henderson suggested that Phillips has been ‘brilliant’ all season and really deserved his first Premier League goal, with the defender becoming an unlikely favourite this term.
