Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has told the club’s official website that seeing Paul Glatzel back in training has been ‘magic’.
The Reds have already wrapped up the Premier League title, and Jurgen Klopp is now giving chances to young players in order to give them experience.
Neco Williams and Curtis Jones have featured, whilst Harvey Elliott will surely play before the season finally comes to an end.
Other young players are training around the first team, and striker Glatzel is one of them – but that doesn’t even begin to tell his story.
Glatzel was involved in pre-season training with the Liverpool first team last summer, but suffered a torn ACL in the 6-0 win over Tranmere Rovers.
Glatzel has subsequently missed the entire season, but is now working his way back to full fitness, leaving many excited about his future.
The 19-year-old, born in Liverpool but a youth international with both England and Germany, has hit 23 goals and five assists in just 38 outings for the Reds at youth level.

Now, Liverpool captain Henderson has admitted that ‘everyone is made up’ to see Glatzel in training, admitting that it’s ‘magic’ to see him looking so sharp again.
Henderson praised Glatzel’s attitude and character to make it back from such a devastating injury, and predicts a ‘big career’ for the teenager.
“Most recently we’ve had Paul Glatzel back in full training and everyone is made up about that. I don’t want to dwell on Paul’s setbacks as I’m sure everyone knows the bad luck he had,” said Henderson. “But a player is defined by how he reacts to these blows and Paul has the mentality that says to all of us he is going to have a big career. He loves to score goals and seeing him back in training and looking sharp is magic.”
“If anything, Paul epitomises the attitude and character needed. He’s an example to a lot of the young players. He has never felt sorry for himself, is committed to making sure he can be the best he can be, and he works as hard as any player I’ve ever seen to give himself the chance to fulfil his potential. I hope Paul is as proud of himself for how he’s conducted himself in the face of setbacks, as we are of him,” he added.
