Liverpool are on course to win their sixth European trophy after they booked their place in the Champions League final on Tuesday.
Jordan Henderson has admitted that the Liverpool players keep giving Trent Alexander-Arnold stick because he can’t stop providing assists for his teammates.
On Tuesday night, Jurgen Klopp’s side overturned Barcelona’s three-goal deficit to book their place in the Champions League final in stunning fashion.
During that game, Alexander-Arnold provided two assists, including one for the decisive goal when he caught the Barca defence napping as he was about to take a corner.
Speaking to BT Sport straight after that stunning comeback against the Spanish club (07/05/2019), Henderson lauded Liverpool’s display, in particular, Alexander-Arnold’s.
“We keep giving him stick because he keeps getting assists,” Henderson told BT Sport. “Amazing! But defensively I thought he was unbelievable and going forward. Everybody was unreal.”
Right-back Alexander-Arnold has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season and is a big reason as to why his team are chasing two trophies.
After that drama on Anfield on Tuesday, Klopp’s side will turn their attention to Sunday and trying to win the title, with Manchester City currently holding the advantage.
All Liverpool have to do is beat Wolves on home soil and hope Pep Guardiola’s side drop points at Brighton – if that happens then it will certainly send the red half of Merseyside into wild celebrations.
