The Wolves midfielder defends his Tottenham Hotspur counterpart
Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Jordan Graham has lept to the defence of under-fire Tottenham Hotspur and England man Kyle Walker.
The right-back has attracted criticism for losing his man in the build-up to Iceland’s first goal in the Three Lions’ shocking exit from Euro 2016 last night.
The goal came just 83 seconds after Wayne Rooney had fired England ahead from the penalty spot on four minutes, with Roy Hodgson’s side collectively lacking a bit of alertness as the opener lured them into a false sense of security.
But most of the fingers have been pointed at the Spurs defender as the prime culprit in the goal, but the Wolves star has defended Walker by reminding his detractors how excellent the Tottenham man had been in the tournament overall.
Graham does have a point. On the whole, Walker is excellent, but it is that one lapse of concentration which will define him as far as this competition goes unfortunately.
England would have faced host nation France in the quarter-finals had they negotiated the Iceland test.
