The French defender has fallen out of favour under Steve Bruce but the Dutchman would be a great addition.

Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi is currently being heavily linked with a move away from the club in the summer.

After his initial arrival from Nice in 2015 the French under-21 international impressed at Villa Park. But he suffered a cruciate ligament injury that November and since his return he has struggled to impressed in the Championship.

Napoli are said to be keen on the player, as reported by Il Matino, and a move to the Italian side would certainly tempt Amavi.

But Villa could also get their hands on a former Premier League star in the process.

Jonathan De Guzman is unwanted at Napoli. He joined the Italian side from Villarreal in 2014, following two impressive seasons on loan at Swansea City.

But he has struggled at the club and spent time on loan at Carpi and is currently with Chievo.

The Dutch international is still only 29-years-old and would be a welcome addition to the Aston Villa fold, where he could team up with former team-mate Neil Taylor.

Aston Villa were linked by talkSPORT with his signing in January 2016. A lot has changed since then but the Midlands club should still be ready to make a move for the 14-cap international midfielder.
