Celtic have signed Jonny Hayes from Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.

New Celtic signing Jonny Hayes has revealed to the club’s official website that the presence of Brendan Rodgers was a major factor in his decision to move to the club.
As announced on Celtic’s official website this afternoon, the Glasgow giants have signed Hayes from Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.
The 29-year-old winger worked with Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers when they were at English club Reading.

The Republic of Ireland international started his professional club football career at Reading where Rodgers was working with the club’s academy.
Hayes has revealed that the presence of Rodgers at Celtic was a major factor in his decision to make the switch from Aberdeen to the Hoops.
“Brendan and I go back a long time,” Hayes told Celtic’s official website. “I worked under him at the academy at Reading but I hadn’t seen him for a few years until the game at Pittodrie earlier in the season. He’s still the same man.
“He’s brilliant to work for and he looks at every little detail. He was a huge factor in wanting to come to Celtic. He’s up there with the best coaches I’ve ever worked for and I’m glad I’ll get to play for him again.”
Hayes is a very good winger, and having worked with Rodgers before, he will know what to expect from the Celtic manager.
The presence of the Republic of Ireland international in the Celtic squad will enhance the Hoops’ chances of winning the domestic treble yet again next season.
