Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong has caught Jonny Hayes’ eye recently.

Celtic transfer target Jonny Hayes may be particularly excited to link up with Stuart Armstrong, if he does move to Parkhead.
Hayes has been identified as a potential Celtic signing this summer (Daily Record), with Brendan Rodgers impressed by the Aberdeen man.
And if Hayes does make the switch to Glasgow, he will clearly be excited to play in the same team as Armstrong.

Speaking to the Daily Record, back at the start of the month, Hayes said: “I voted for Stuart Armstrong [as Player of the Year], who has had an excellent season even by his own standards. I expected it to be a landslide for Celtic individually, and as a team they’ve done very well.
“Stuart has had a great campaign, the pick of the bunch for me. I haven’t enjoyed playing against him, no, because he always plays so well against us.
“I’ve played against him for a number of years and even at Dundee United I knew he would go on to better things because he was such a stand-out performer. It’s no surprise to see him reaching these heights.”

Celtic are believed to be tracking Hayes, who is valued at around £1 million (Daily Record), this summer, but they face a huge amount of competition for his signature.
The Aberdeen winger has been one of the stand out players in Scotland this season, and his form has not gone unnoticed.
It seems that the Dons are fighting a losing battle to keep hold of Hayes, as he looks to be of interest to a number of different teams.
Hayes scored 11 goals and made 24 assists across all competitions over the past season.
