Everton are said to be interested in West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans this summer.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, current Everton transfer target, Jonny Evans, wanted a move to Goodison Park back in 2015.

Everton aimed to sign Evans two years ago, when he was made available by Manchester United.

And the centre-back, at that time, was said to be enthused by the chance to move to Merseyside.

However, a deal fell through, with Evans ultimately making a switch to West Bromwich Albion.

Since, Everton have maintained their interest in Evans – and it is believed that they could make a move this summer.

West Brom are known to be desperate to keep hold of Evans, but they are having to fend off rising interest in the centre-back.

Everton are said to be lining up a bid for the 29-year-old by The Sun – and it remains to be seen whether Evans would still be interested in making a move to the Toffees.

Everton have been one of the most active clubs in the Premier League in the transfer window so far, with Ronald Koeman’s side spending big to improve their squad.
