West Bromwich Albion are currently marooned at the bottom of the Premier League table.

West Brom defender Jonny Evans spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, in the aftermath of his side’s disappointing defeat to Watford on Saturday, and shared how he and his teammates have been discussing ways to improve their defensive solidarity over this past week.
The Baggies are currently in a whole world of trouble, and sit rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table, eight points adrift of safety, with only nine league games remaining.

Alan Pardew’s appointment at the Hawthorns was expected to coincide with an upturn in form for West Brom, but that has so far failed to materialise, with his side winning just once in the league since he was handed the reigns way back in November.
Evans spoke to the Express & Star about his side’s recent run of poor form, and highlighted how he and his teammates have been holding meetings recently about how they can be more solid from a defensive aspect:

“We had a lot of meetings in the week about how to be more secure behind the ball, stop teams breaking on us as much. But when you’re pushing to win the game, things become a bit more stretched. Gaps start to appear and they got the goal. It’s difficult to take.”
Next up for the Baggies is a home game against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do, as Pardew’s men look to provide themselves with the foundation from which to make their great escape.
