The Spain full-back was injured during the international break but Wolves have now issued an update suggesting that he is recovering well.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have issued an update on the knee injury suffered by Jonny Castro Otto while on international duty with Spain.
The 24-year-old, on loan at Molineux from Atletico Madrid, had to be replaced in the 51st minute of the 1-0 friendly win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 November.
A statement published on the Spanish national team’s website the following day confirmed that Jonny had suffered a partial tear of the internal lateral ligament of his knee.
The estimated recovery time was given as five to six weeks, and Wolves have now elaborated on the Spaniard’s prognosis with a post on their official website.
“The first two weeks have been mainly focused on reducing inflammation around the knee and maintaining strength as much as possible,” wrote Phil Hayward, the club’s head of medical.
“Once the inflammation is under control, we’ll then start more treatments to begin healing the damaged area and progress his rehab to more functional exercises in the gym, prior to commencing outdoor rehab.
“He needs to have good strength before he can be exposed to contact training, so we have various benchmarks that we need to attain before progressing onto the next level of rehab, getting closer to a return to training.”
The statement does not put a timescale on Jonny’s return as the player and medical staff need to let the injury heal but Hayward has pledged to do all he can to progress him “as quickly as possible”.

Some days prior to Jonny’s injury, the Birmingham Mail reported that the West Midlanders had made signing the full-back on a permanent basis their top priority in the January window.
Jonny has clearly impressed boss Nuno Espirito Santo, who named the former Celta Vigo man in the starting XI for each of Wolves’ Premier League games so far this season prior to his injury.
The knock risked compromising a potential permanent Wolves bid, especially given that Atletico would reportedly want a substantial profit on a player they signed for around £6.3million in the summer (Transfermarkt).
But given the positive injury update, there is every chance that Jonny could be fit and raring to go come the New Year as per Spain’s initial prognosis – and just in time for the opening of the transfer window.
