Newcastle United’s Isaac Hayden is reportedly wanted by West Ham United.

West Ham United may be looking for midfield reinforcements this summer, and a move to sign a Newcastle United may well be on the cards.
The Hammers have seen Declan Rice and Mark Noble establish a strong partnership in midfield, but additional depth is needed with Carlos Sanchez and Jack Wilshere enduring injury problems and Pedro Obiang’s future unclear.
Manuel Pellegrini is likely to bring in a new face in midfield, and The Telegraph report that they could make a move to sign Newcastle’s Isaac Hayden.
Hayden, 24, has enjoyed a strong season with one goal and four assists in 24 appearances, but he’s been honest throughout the last year about his intentions to move back down south.
Newcastle will seemingly let him go due to the family reasons Hayden cites, but a move to West Ham would potentially come as a major disappointment to teammate Jonjo Shelvey.
Shelvey has barely featured for Newcastle this season, but The Northern Echo recently claimed that West Ham wanted to lure the midfielder to East London.

West Ham are Shelvey’s boyhood club, and heading to the London Stadium would have been a dream move for the Londoner, but his lack of playing time this season may cost him.
Hayden’s form has been better for months now and he has potential to improve even further, making him a more appealing prospect than Shelvey as things stand – meaning that dream move to West Ham could be ruined for Shelvey, and leave him in limbo at Newcastle.
