Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is widely considered as one of the best in world football.
During an interview with the club’s official website, former Spurs defender Jonathan Woodgate offered high praise for Hugo Lloris, explaining what he has been particularly impressed with regarding the Frenchman’s performances.
The France number one recently signed a new six-year deal with Tottenham, and many called it the most important piece of business that Spurs could have done this season.
Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris celebrates
The 30-year-old made the move to White Hart Lane from Lyon in the summer of 2012, for a fee believed to be in the region of £8 million, and has since gone on to make 191 appearances for the Lilywhites, whilst establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
And Woodgate, who made 65 appearances for Spurs during a three-and-a-half year spell with the club, raved about Tottenham’s number one, when speaking to the club’s official website TottenhamHotspur.com during an exclusive interview:
Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris
“I love his starting position. He plays in a sweeper role and he’s so quick. He’s not the tallest for a goalkeeper but he’s so sharp, brave as well. He’s made some incredible saves this season, great reactions, but it’s how quick and sharp he is that stands out for me.”
Mauricio Pochettino’s men welcome Chelsea to White Hart Lane tomorrow, and Lloris will have to be at his very best, if Spurs are to go on and take all three points that they so desperately need from the game.
