Former Leeds defender says the Premier League would be a better place with his former side.
Former Leeds United hero Jonathan Woodgate has told 888Sport that he hopes his former side can win promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds impressed on the big stage this week as they battled Liverpool in the EFL Cup quarter-final, giving a good account of themselves before conceding two late goals in a 2-0 loss.

Despite their cup exit the team are flying high in the Championship, sitting in fifth position and occupying a play-off spot.
Woodgate said: “It’s good to see a young English manager in Garry Monk doing his stuff and getting a chance.
“Too often they’re over-looked for foreign coaches and it’s so good to see an English manager with a good club.
“I hope they do go up because Leeds are a special club and they’d make the Premier League a better league.”
Leeds United manager Garry Monk
Monk was appointed in the summer after being cast aside by Swansea City last season, a decision which fans of the Welsh side may now be questioning.
He is managing in the Championship for the first time, and breathed new life into a Leeds side which were nothing more than mid-table also rans last season.
Woodgate was part of the last great Leeds team which competed in the Champions League, before being sold to Newcastle United in 2003.
Injuries blighted his career and after a spell playing for Real Madrid, he went on to play with Middlesbrough, Stoke and Tottenham before retiring this past summer.
