Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has told the club’s official website that he doesn’t want the club’s fans to worry about their poor start to the season.
The Villans were once again frustrated in midweek as a late goal from John Egan secured a draw for Brentford and saw Villa drop two points.
It was a familiar tale, with a late goal also having seen Nottingham Forest snatch all three points from Roberto di Matteo’s team the weekend before.
Add that to the fact they have only won one game all season and their fans are naturally worried, but Kodjia has urged them not to do so.
“I can understand the frustration of the fans but I don’t want the supporters to worry,” he told the club’s official website.
“We’re a good team, a good club. As soon as we get a win I think we can work our way up the table.”
Villa are currently 17th in the table with seven points from their first seven games.
It has been a tough start to life in the Championship for them and their fans are worried that another relegation battle could be on the cards.
Their struggles have not been made any easier by the fact that Norwich City and Newcastle United have made strong starts to the season either.
The Villans will need to go on a run to catch both, even at this early stage, and will be keen to get that started when they take on Ipswich Town this weekend.
