The Aston Villa forward was quick to thank the fans for their unwavering support.
Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia has taken to Twitter to send a message to the club’s fans after a tough season.
Villa began the campaign upbeat, hoping to make their stay in the second tier a short one, but a tumultuous start saw a managerial change, while January’s new faces failed to prompt a significant upturn in form.
Still, Villa fans can now look forward to a far better campaign in 2018, with Steve Bruce at the helm and some very exciting players at his disposal.
One of them is Kodjia, who ended the season early due to injury yet can be pleased with his return of 19 goals in 40 appearances.
Taking to social media after Villa’s dramatic 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, the 27-year-old said, “Although it’s not been the season we all wished for, I’d like you to thank you for the way you supported the team thru (sic) it.”
Now it is up to the player to recover from his broken ankle and return fit and firing for the new campaign; one in which Villa will have no more excuses and must rewarded their long-suffering fans with a full on promotion charge.
