The Argentine insists he wants to stay in Europe.
West Ham United’s loan striker Jonathan Calleri has been commenting on the interest in his services from Brazilian side Palmeiras – as his future at the London club looks increasingly in doubt.
Speaking to Brazilian publication Lance! this week he made it clear Palmeiras had made their interest in his services known to his representatives.

However, he made it clear that he would only return to Brazil to play for former club Sao Paolo – who he spent last season on loan with – and that he wishes to make a career in Europe:
“The people of Palmeiras spoke with my businessmen, but they know that I always say that in Brazil the only place I would play is in São Paulo. And I always keep.
“I’m always talking to (Sao Paolo director) Marco Aurélio Cunha, he’s a person who always cares about the player and for São Paulo. We always talk about returning someday. But he also knows that it is very difficult, because neither is it up to me, and my dream is to play in Europe.”

Calleri’s registration is owned by Uruguayan side Deportivo Maldonado but is currently out on loan at West Ham.
He has struggled to have an impact at the London Stadium so far and it was reported by The Sun recently that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is considering letting him go.

Calleri has recently been allowed back to South America after failing to adapt to life at West Ham and it does look like he could be allowed to move elsewhere in the winter.
But he will not be heading to Palmeiras.
