West Bromwich Albion have got themselves a fine goalkeeper, but he should be playing regularly.

Jonathan Bond has made an error joining West Bromwich Albion, just to sit on their substitutes’ bench.

Bond was announced as a West Brom player yesterday, as the Baggies further strengthened their goalkeeping department.

The former Tottenham man was a free agent, and Albion acted to bring him to the Hawthorns.

The signing looks like a smart one for them, as they have added a talented goalkeeper to their ranks without having to pay a penny.

However, Bond is only likely to play a covering role, with Darren Moore’s side already snapping up Sam Johnstone this summer.

And Bond may have made an error for his career by making the switch to West Brom.

Bond has proven in spells with Peterborough United and Portsmouth that he is perfectly capable of playing regular football at League One level.

And Bond may wish he was playing more regularly as this season progresses at West Brom.
