Alfredo Morelos is an important player for Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers.
Alfredo Morelos of Rangers
The former Rangers striker and assistant manager has praised the Colombia international, and he believes that the 23-year-old Rangers star still has room to improve.
Meanwhile, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has suggested that the departure of winger Daniel Candeias from the Gers in the summer transfer window has helped Morelos get better.
Johansson told The Daily Record about Morelos: “When you come to this level it’s about hard work and it’s not being happy where you are.
The one thing I remember is that Morelos is very hungry. If he keeps that hunger and keeps up the progression I think he will go higher still.
“I don’t like to put pressure on him but he’s doing well at the moment and long may it last.”
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about Morelos: “When Daniel was here, the two were really close. They spoke the same language and Daniel was a comfort blanket for Alfredo at times.
“But I think people around the squad got less of Alfredo because of that. That’s not a criticism. It’s just the way it is.
“Maybe before, there were others in a clique who spoke that language. It did seem as if there were groups like that.
“But since Daniel has left, Alfredo has opened up and come out of his shell a little bit more. He’s mixing with the players more, he seems very happy.

Important player for Rangers
Morelos has temperamental issues and was sent off as many as five times for Rangers last season.
The 23-year-old has shown improvement on the pitch this season in terms of keeping his cool and not getting dismissed, and that is certainly very encouraging.
While Rangers are a massive club and are starting to challenge bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic, a move to the Premier League could be very tempting and lucrative for Morelos in the coming years.
According to WhoScored, the young striker has scored five goals in eight Scottish Premiership matches for the Gers so far this campaign.
