Jon Toral has made 12 appearances for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers since signing in January.
Jon Toral has told Glasgow Rangers’ official website that he has had to adapt to playing in a new position at Ibrox.
Toral has been handed a role as a deep lying midfielder at Rangers, despite usually being used as a number 10.
And the Spaniard believes that his experience in Glasgow will stand him in good stead for the future.
“I have been used to playing further forward on the pitch in my time at Birmingham and even at Brentford and Granada,” Toral said.
“When you play higher up you get more chances but with this deeper role my job is to do other things, make the team play a bit and move the ball around.
“It’s been great for my development, I feel like I have learnt to play another style of play and another position as well – that will always help me for the rest of my career.”
Toral has made 12 appearances for Rangers since signing on loan from Arsenal.
The midfielder is currently out injured, but has expressed a desire to return to full fitness before the end of the season.
Toral has missed Rangers’ last two matches, and his absence has been noticeable, as the Light Blues have lost their last two contests to Celtic.
Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Partick – but the fixture is likely to come too soon for Toral to feature in.
