Rangers loanee Jon Toral has told RangersTV that it has been great working under new boss Pedro Caixinha during his first week in charge, and suggested that the players’ happiness came across in their performance on Saturday.
The Gers stormed to a 4-0 victory over Hamilton to kick the Caixinha era off in some style and to keep their recent unbeaten run going.
And the Spanish playmaker – who did not get onto the scoresheet but did bag an assist, setting up Clint Hill’s third in as many games for the Light Blues – explained that the Portuguese’s arrival has given the team a significant boost that inspired their emphatic win over their Scottish Premiership rivals.
“It’s been great,” he told RangersTV when asked about the first week under the new boss.
“Training has been spot on from the lads, everyone’s welcomed him and it showed during the training sessions and it showed at the weekend in the game.

“We’re feeling good, the momentum’s going our way and we have to keep going this way.”
The international break has perhaps come at a perfect time for the Gers based on the win over Hamilton. They have now got two weeks where they can enjoy the momentum they have built and capitalise on it by learning more about what Caixinha wants to see from the team.
And the victory should give them a tremendous amount of belief ahead of the business end of the season where they will need to claw back eight points if they hope catch Aberdeen and finish second in the table.
