Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton seem to be cut from the same cloth in more ways than one.
Rahm made the move to LIV Golf at the end of 2023, with Hatton following just a month later. The two are now teammates for Legion XIII and have spent plenty of time together since then.
They’ve been consistent performers in the majors. In fact, you could argue that Rahm and Hatton are two of only four players who’ve actually got better since joining LIV, along with Bryson DeChambeau and current standings leader Joaquin Niemann.
Jon Rahm opens up on his current friendship with Tyrrell Hatton

Rahm and Hatton often play practice rounds together, and their time as Legion XIII teammates has only strengthened that bond. Over the past 18 months or so, they’ve clearly grown closer.
Speaking to reporters ahead of LIV Golf London, Rahm spoke about how his relationship with Hatton has evolved. He said: “I’ll tell you the one thing we’ve learned about each other we’ve gotten to know a lot more our taste on wine. At first it was like, I like it; I like it too. But then you get to know, okay, what do you like. So that’s been a bit more profound. You get to know each other a little bit more.
“One thing about both of us is that as much as we may act on the golf course, we’re not afraid to make fun of each other or make fun of ourselves. We’ve shared a few laughs about things we may have done on the course. They get to laugh as well because they don’t do that. It’s a good time for everybody. I think, like any other friendship, in general, you just get to know each other a little bit better.
“It’s a balance, right, because we spend a lot of great time together but we also want to beat each other, and when we’re playing together it’s glaringly obvious that we want to beat each other, but we don’t say it. But it is what it is. It’s a friendly competition as well within things, and I think that’s why it works so well as well.”
How Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton have fared in LIV Golf and the majors in 2025
Both players will be disappointed with how things have gone so far.
Rahm and Hatton are both used to winning, so it’s surprising that we’re into July and neither of them has managed to pick up a victory yet this year.
Here’s a look at how their results in LIV Golf and the majors compare through the 2025 season:
| Achievements | Rahm’s 2025 results | Hatton’s 2025 results |
| Majors wins | 0 | 0 |
| Major top 10s | 2 | 1 |
| LIV wins | 0 | 0 |
| LIV top-5s | 4 | 2 |
| LIV top-10s | 9 | 3 |
Rahm has been remarkably consistent, but he would trade all those top-10 finishes for just one win.
Hatton will also be keen to finally notch a victory before the 2025 season wraps up.
