Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United lost in the Championship at the weekend.

The former Leeds defender suggested that Bielsa should have signed a striker in January.
Newsome made the comments following the West Yorkshire outfit’s 1-0 defeat to Birmingham City away from home at St. Andrew’s in the Championship at the weekend.
Patrick Bamford missed chances and also hit the frame of the Birmingham goal this past Saturday, while fellow striker Kemar Roofe came on as a substitute in the 70th minute, having only recovered from injury.
Newsome said on BBC Radio Leeds about Leeds not signing a striker in January: “Maybe that was an area that Bielsa could have strengthened in the January window, if nothing else, just a bit of strength in depth, so it gives you another option.”

Mistake from Leeds United?
Leeds do have some very good players in all departments, and Bamford and Roofe are quality strikers who have done quite well this season.
Tyler Roberts has also chipped in with important goals for Leeds, whose main problem in their strike-force has been injuries.
Bamford, Roberts and Roofe all have had injury issues, and had they all been fit all the time, then Leeds could have been at the top of the Championship table at the moment instead of being third.
