Sunderland have shown a tendency to struggle from dead ball situations, but Jack Ross is working hard to improve that area of weakness.

But McLaughlin insists that Ross knows the problem, and Sunderland are working hard to rectify it.
The stopper said: “We have to work tirelessly on the training pitch on set pieces and things so that everybody knows their jobs, everybody does it and everybody cares as much about coming back and defending set pieces as they do about going forward and it’s just as important, not just for goalkeepers and defenders but for, everyone to be switched on all the time to keep the ball out of the net on a set piece or in the early part of games.”
Sunderland were held to a 1-1 draw by Fleetwood Town at the weekend, as they failed to beat Joey Barton’s side.
Sunderland actually were fortunate to get a point, as Fleetwood missed a second half penalty.
The Black Cats, despite showing signs of weakness, are still unbeaten this season, and things are looking positive.
Ross’ side are currently in fourth place in the League One table, and only four points behind league leaders, Peterborough United.
Sunderland are next in action against Burton Albion at the weekend.
