Jamie Walker, who has been on Glasgow Rangers’ radar this summer, is in line to play at Ibrox for Hearts this weekend.

Hearts caretaker boss Jon Daly has suggested that Jamie Walker could be in line to make his first Scottish Premiership appearance of the season this weekend against Rangers – the side that has been pursuing him for much of the summer, The Scottish Sun reports.

Walker has played three times for Hearts this term – but all of those appearances came back in July and in the League Cup.

He did not even make the matchday squad for the opening day defeat to Celtic, with Daly feeling that the winger was not in the right frame of mind to feature having been linked with the Gers for much of the window, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

And despite being included on the bench for the clash with Kilmarnock, he did not feature once again. But Daly has suggested that, having shown a lot more in training recently, he could well play some part in the clash with Pedro Caixinha’s men.

“We spoke to Jamie and asked questions of him,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

“The chat was his head wasn’t in the right place just then.

“Now he’s focused and he’s trained really well this week.

“We just need more of the same from him and he’s back in contention for the game against Rangers.”

Jamie Walker of Hearts scores his goal from the penalty spot during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Hearts and Celtic on August 7, 2016 in Glasgow, Edinburgh.

Should Walker feature against the Light Blues this weekend, the Ibrox faithful will be hoping that he fails to prove why he has been on Rangers’ radar for such a long time, for one game at least.

Walker has previously shown that he is capable of hurting Rangers – having scored twice against the Gers in a 4-1 win at Tynecastle back in February last season – and while Caixinha may still perhaps be keen to bring him in before the window closes, he will be hoping that if he does feature at Ibrox, his performance does not hurt Rangers’ chances of getting back on track.
