The new Aston Villa signing isn’t forgetting about the Baggies.
Joleon Lescott has completed a rather bizarre hat-trick. Indeed, the centre-back has now been a Wolves, West Brom and Aston Villa player.
On Deadline Day, the 33-year-old was confirmed as an Aston Villa signing, having left West Brom.
But Lescott hasn’t forgotten about the Baggies and, despite admitting he was ‘buzzing’ to join Villa, has sent a special message to the staff, players and fans at West Brom on social media.
West Brom fans will no doubt be saddened – and enraged – to see one their senior players join a bitter rival. But this message should (or is it not enough?) soften the blow.
The Baggies have lost a solid defender in Lescott but recently signed Jonny Evans as a replacement.
Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood will be delighted to have signed the 33-year-old from the Hawthorns outfit, however.
Villa have signed a number of players this summer but most of them strengthened Sherwood’s side in the final third. Lescott could make a huge difference at the back, especially with Ciaran Clark getting criticism for his form recently.
