
Some Leeds United fans on social media have been feeling rather smug after it emerged that Barcelona added a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the Junior Firpo deal.
Usually, you’d expect a fanbase to be rather annoyed that they’ll have to pay an extra premium on their new signing, but Leeds fans interestingly seemed to have the opposite reaction.
Indeed, Leeds supporters were actually quite smug about this detail, claiming that they’ve still got a good deal.
More than one fan said that they’ll have to pay Barcelona £20m in the future, which would of course mean that they’ve sold Firpo for £100m, and while that’s a bold prediction, it just goes to show how much of a bargain Leeds fans think they’ve gotten.
One fan even said that Firpo will lead the Whites to the Champions League, while another said that it’s a good sign that Barcelona are seemingly aware of his talents, refusing to let him go without a sell-on clause.
