Rangers take on Brighton at Ibrox on Saturday evening in the first of two pre-season games for Steven Gerrard’s side this weekend – but Brighton fans aren’t impressed at having to pay to watch a pre-season friendly be streamed.

Gerrard’s Scottish champions host the Seagulls on Saturday before Spanish giants Real Madrid are the visitors the following day to wrap up the Gers’ pre-season fixtures.

Rangers have already faced Partick Thistle, Arsenal and Tranmere so far this summer and were due to take on Blackpool tonight before the plug was pulled as the result of a Covid outbreak in the Seasiders’ squad.

The Gers are likely to field two different XIs for the bulk of each friendly as Gerrard looks to get as many minutes as possible into as many players as possible ahead of the Scottish Premiership getting underway next weekend.

With Rangers hosting the game, the Gers have made the Rangers TV stream available for Brighton fans to buy at the same price as the home support but the idea of paying to watch a pre-season warm-up seems to be a step too far for some.

After the official Brighton Twitter account shared details of how to buy the stream from Rangers for tomorrow’s game, fans were quick to criticise the Gers for “milking the fans”.

Here are some of the comments from Brighton fans not happy at having to pay to see the Rangers game:
