Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has been selected by Jamaica ahead of the Reggae Boyz November FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Jamaican Football Federation announced on their official Twitter account on Tuesday that Bailey will return to the squad after missing fixtures in October due to injury.
Bailey, who became the most expensive Jamaican player ever this summer after Dean Smith signed the winger for a reported fee of £25m, is a key player for the CONCACAF nation.
However, despite Jamaica boasting an impressive squad featuring the likes of Michail Antonio, Kemar Roofe and Bobby Reid, their qualifying campaign for the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been nothing short of disastrous.
In six games, Jamaica have won just one game. Whilst the likes of Mexico, Canada and the United States are all pulling away at the top. The top three in the CONCACAF group automatically qualify for Qatar.
With Jamaica eager to make it to their first World Cup since 1998, it’s no wonder they’ve called up Bailey despite injury concerns in recent weeks. But this decision has not pleased Villa supporters.
Villa fans fume at Jamaica call-up for Bailey

With Bailey having to travel over 10,000 miles in the next few weeks, Villa fans on social media are fuming that the attacker is again at risk of picking up another injury problem.
Here’s what some Villa fans had to say about Bailey being called up for Jamaica on Twitter…
