Wilks was making his fourth appearances since joining Grimsby Town on loan from Leeds United.

Grimsby Town supporters were left unimpressed by Russell Slade’s decision to substitute Leeds United loanee Mallik Wilks during Saturday’s defeat at Crawley Town.
Wilks was making his second start for the Mariners since joining from Leeds in January, but saw only 45 minutes of action.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a bright first half, in which he had Grimsby’s only shot on target, although he had earlier entered referee Kevin Johnson’s book for a heavy tackle.

That could explain why Wilks was withdrawn by Slade, who was later made to pay with his job as Crawley tripled their half-time lead to win 3-0.
Cautioned or not though, one Mariners fan described the decision as ‘a joke’ and several others appeared to concur….
Wilks, who has made just one appearance for Leeds, is yet to open his account for Grimsby, although his performance against Cheltenham Town last week saw him named in the Football League Paper’s League Two team of the week.
