Everton fans are not exactly pleased with the news that Mike Dean is set to referee their game against Liverpool at the weekend.

Liverpool could stand a chance of winning the Premier League title at Goodison Park this weekend, if Manchester City fail to beat Arsenal this evening.

That would be a disaster for Everton, but confidence that Carlo Ancelotti’s side can get a result is dwindling on the blue half of Merseyside.

Everton supporters are worried that Dean has been put in charge, and feel that Liverpool could benefit from the refereeing appointment.

Dean has only refereed Everton very infrequently throughout his career, but the Toffees have never won with him in charge on five attempts.

Dean was also the referee earlier this season, when Liverpool beat Everton 5-2 at Anfield.

On that occasion Everton were denied a penalty when Virgil van Dijk appeared to take out Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
