Does Domingos Quina regret not joining Tottenham Hotspur ahead of West Ham United?

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Domingos Quina will fulfill his undoubted potential in a West Ham United shirt.

According to The Mirror, the 18-year-old midfielder, whose contract in East London expires next summer, will be targeted by Ajax and AC Milan in the coming months.

Quina has been the next big thing at West Ham for a number of years and the fact that he still hasn’t played in the Premier League might make the youngster regret joining the Irons in the first place.

The Hammers held off competition from Tottenham Hotspur [The Mirror] to sign Quina in 2016, and the former Benfica and Chelsea youth must be wishing he joined Spurs instead.

Given the calibre of Tottenham’s midfield options, it’s entirely plausible that Quina would still be awaiting a Premier League debut in North London too.

But his development might have been accelerated by working under a manager of Mauricio Pochettino’s standing and the fact that Quina – who hasn’t made West Ham’s bench since January – is nowhere near David Moyes’s first team is evidence that, despite being a huge talent, he hasn’t been kicking on.

Would he have kicked on under Pochettino? Probably, given how the Argentine is renowned for nurturing and improving young players and Quina – who has only managed four appearances this season – could and should be thinking ‘what if’ as his decision to join West Ham looks increasingly poor.
