Ibrox hosts Glasgow Rangers against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday with Gers hoping to seal second place.

Glasgow Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has suggested that Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard could make a bold decision depending on how the Scottish Premiership game with Aberdeen pans out.
Rangers are currently second in the table and face the Dons at Ibrox on Sunday, with Derek McInnes’s side third in the standings and eight points behind the Light Blues with four fixtures to go.
Aberdeen’s hopes of a top two finish will be dashed for good if Gerrard’s charges pick up all three points, while a draw will put the Ibrox side eight points clear of the Dons with three games left.
Johnstone, who played 546 times for Rangers according to the official website, reckons Gerrard could give some of the club’s younger players some Premiership game time if they succeed in securing second place.
With the Old Firm derby against Celtic on the horizon, this could mean several youngsters could be very much thrown at the deep end against their bitter rivals, while Hibernian and Kilmarnock will also prove testing opponents.

“If Rangers can beat Aberdeen and secure second, it could give Steven a chance to give a few of the younger players a run out in the last few Premiership games,” Johnstone wrote in the Glasgow Evening Times.
“It would be great to see a couple of the kids get an opportunity but that can only happen once second spot has been earned.”
Depending on things go, the Rangers faithful could well see some of the fringe players, or even the reserves – or quite possibly even some of the recent Scottish Youth Cup winners – utilised in the upcoming senior games, including the Old Firm derby.
