The Bristol boss still wants to sign the Liverpool youngster.

Quoted by The Bristol Post, Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has admitted that he still wants Liverpool’s Sergi Canos – even after Norwich City had a bid accepted for him.
It was reported by the Liverpool Echo last week that the Reds had accepted Norwich’s £2.5 million bid for the 19-year-old midfielder.

But that offer matches what Johnson has previously proposed for the former Barcelona youth, who joined Liverpool in 2013.
His move to Norwich has not yet been rubber-stamped, and the 35-year-old says he’s still very much in the race for Canos’s signature.

“It’s a player we’re interested in – that’s no secret,” said Johnson via The Bristol Post. “But a lot of things have got to go on to be able to get that one through.”
Canos enjoyed a successful loan spell with Brentford last season and the Griffin Park outfit may yet enter the race to sign him permanently. If they do, they know the price.
The player himself might be disappointed if he does join a Championship club on a permanent basis, having made his Liverpool debut toward the end of last season, giving him a taste of the big time.
