Leeds United are said to be chasing Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter.

If Leeds United do sign Jake Clarke-Salter this summer then John Terry’s past comments should serve as encouragement that he would be a fine addition at Elland Road.
Leeds were impressed by Clarke-Salter’s displays on a temporary spell in Holland with Vitesse last term.
And the centre-back would arrive at Elland Road with Terry’s seal of approval, if he was to join.
“Jake has a great attitude. I remember watching him a couple of years ago being in control of the game and a really vocal player. He reminds me a bit of myself,” Terry said of Clarke-Salter back in 2016 to the London Evening Standard.
“He is doing great and I hope he goes on to take my position and get in the first team. It was great for him to make his debut. I was disappointed I wasn’t there to support him because I missed the game [through injury]. But watching it from home, I was delighted.”
Clarke-Salter’s last spell of regular football in England was a difficult one, as he played a part in the Sunderland team who were relegated from the Championship.

Leeds could be prepared to offer him another chance to impress in the second tier of English football though, and Clarke-Salter looks a far more refined player now.
The young centre-back captained England’s side at the European under-21 Championships, and appears to be starting to fulfil his potential now.
If Leeds were to bring the Chelsea prospect in on loan he would compete with Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson for a first-team place.
And if he could produce a few performances for Leeds United next season which are similar to the ones which Terry used to produce in his playing days then he would become a very popular addition.
