The Guardian have claimed that Villa are interested in signing Chelsea’s 18-year-old defender Ethan Ampadu this summer as they aim to make their mark in their first season back in England’s top-flight.
Ampadu’s potential arrival would help Villa in many ways because they need more quality at centre-back and Ampadu’s ability to play in front of the defence would also be very useful.
Terry, who joined Dean Smith’s coaching staff in October following the sacking of Steve Bruce, has played a huge part in Villa earning promotion.
Last summer, he played in Villa’s play-off final defeat to Fulham at Wembley, but this time around, he played his part from the sidelines and he will be looking to provide that experience in the Premier League.
But with Ampadu being at Chelsea, Terry could surely use his contacts and influence in getting Ampadu to Villa Park because he has done it before.
