The defender has been a stand-out performer for Aston Villa this season.

Aston Villa skipper John Terry spoke exclusively to talkSPORT, and offered high words of praise for the club’s fans, labelling them as ‘incredible’.
The veteran centre-half joined the Villans on a free transfer in the summer of 2017, after his contract had expired with Chelsea, and he has gone on to be a real success at Villa Park.

Terry has shown no signs of slowing down with age, and at 37-years-old, he seems to be exactly the same player who was lifting Premier League titles with the Blues more than 10 years ago.
The former England international spoke exclusively to talkSPORT about the time he has spent in the west Midlands, and raved about the Villa fans, labelling them as ‘incredible’:

“This football club deserves to be in the Premier League, the support it’s got, how big it is, everyone deserves it. It’s so huge. The travel support is incredible, we’re equipped to go up. Obviously, along the way you need a little bit of luck and hopefully we get both and it gives us a good chance.”
With Villa almost certain to be in the play-offs come the end of the season, Terry will have a huge responsibility on his shoulders, with many of Steve Bruce’s side lacking experience of playing in pressure-cooked atmospheres.
Having the 37-year-old amongst their ranks will surely greatly improve their chances of gaining promotion, and if they do just that, it would be no surprise to see him stay on at Villa Park for another season.
