The former Chelsea defender has been heavily linked with a move to Villa, and would be influential beyond words there.
Reports in the Daily Express have suggested that John Terry could be in line to replace Steve Bruce as Aston Villa boss one day – should he move to Villa Park, of course. Though among the more speculative aspects of his link to the club, one thing is not in doubt; the former Chelsea captain has a tremendous amount to offer to whomever he signs for.
35-year-old Terry, who has won both the Premier League and the FA Cup five times, the League Cup on three occasions and the Champions League as a player, has been offered a one-year-deal with Villa, with their city rivals Birmingham City also interested, according to the Mirror.

A switch to Villa perhaps has more appeal given the club’s size, and while Terry can still offer a huge amount on the pitch – to the point where he’d almost certainly be the best defender in the Championship – it’s off the field where he can really excel.
Terry has always been a born leader, and given his desire to venture into management and coaching after retirement, Villa could be the ideal place for him to do so – and do so brilliantly given the immediate respect he commands.
Every defender at the club – both young and old – would benefit from his experience and influence both as a coach and a player, while his leadership skills – which again, cross over into both sections – would be enormous for the Villans, who are seeking a return to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce has already shown in his managerial career that a great centre half can go on to become a very good manager, and with Bruce’s guidance, there’s no reason why Terry can’t do the same.
