Gabriel Agbonlahor raved about West Ham United central defender Angelo Ogbonna on talkSPORT (6:14pm, February 18, 2021).

The former Aston Villa striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has been impressed by the West Ham star and outlined an attribute that is similar to John Terry.

Terry, now the assistant manager of Aston Villa, is one of the greatest defenders in Premier League history and is a Chelsea legend.

Agbonlahor said about Ogbonna on talkSPORT (6:14pm, February 18, 2021): “He never gets outpaced. The big thing for me is that he is not the quickest, but he is very clever with his positional play. John Terry was the best for me at that when I played against him because they don’t give themselves the chance for you to outpace them.”

Underrated?

Ogbonna has been on the books of West Ham since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Juventus for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £10 million.

The 32-year-old Italian has not always got the limelight that he probably deserves.

One of the reasons why the Hammers are doing so well this season is the form and performances of the centre-back.

Ogbonna has been a rock at the back for West Ham, who could end up in the Champions League places in the Premier League table this campaign.

According to WhoScored, the centre-back has scored two goals in 23 Premier League games for the Hammers so far this season.
