Liverpool defender has won the PFA Player of the Year award.

Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk’s fantastic season was rewarded with the PFA Player of the Year Award.
Van Dijk was honoured at a ceremony in London on Sunday night.
The Dutchman has been a mainstay for Liverpool, with the Reds conceding fewer goals than any team in the Premier League.
Former Chelsea star John Terry reached out to congratulate Van Dijk.
As a former centre-back, Terry was proud to see a defender win an award usually won by strikers and midfielders.
The rarity of a defender winning the award highlights what a fantastic season Van Dijk has had.
Terry’s individual accolades were backed up by winning five Premier League titles.
Van Dijk is agonisingly close to winning his first, with Liverpool involved in a neck and neck title race with Manchester City with only two games remaining each.
