John Terry will continue to assist Dean Smith at Aston Villa following their promotion to the Premier League and speculation about his future

John Terry has expressed his delight on Instagram at signing a new deal with Aston Villa following speculation about his future at the club.
The Mirror previously reported that Championship side Derby County could turn to Terry to become their new manager if his former teammate Frank Lampard takes the Chelsea job.
But on Wednesday afternoon, Villa confirmed on their official website that Terry had penned a new contract at the club, which will delight the supporters ahead of the new season.
He then posted this message on his personal Instagram account:
Former centre-back Terry re-joined Villa in October when Steve Bruce was sacked as manager and Dean Smith was put in charge of the club.
Last season, he had represented Villa on the field of the play by guiding them to the play-off final, but defeat, at the time, seemingly ended his reign at the club.
However, he returned many months later, and under the guidance of boyhood Villa fan Smith, they ended their three-year absence from England’s top-flight.

Now, Villa will focus on trying to make their mark as they make a return to the Premier League. Villa have signed four players already ahead of the new season, and they’ll want more additions.
Given the fact that Villa will be going down the route of buying young players, Terry’s experience in the dugout and off the field of play is going to be huge for the team next season.
