Aston Villa assistant John Terry reportedly recommended Jack Marriott to Derby County manager and his former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard.

Terry played against Marriott last season during Villa’s 3-1 defeat Peterborough United in the FA Cup last season.
The former Chelsea defender was playing for the Villans, while the 24-year-old striker scored twice for the Posh.
According to The Birmingham Mail, Terry recommended Marriott to his former Chelsea teammate Lampard, who was appointed the Derby manager in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the Rams paid the Posh an initial transfer fee of £3 million in order to secure the services of the 24-year-old.

Derby are fifth in the Championship table at the moment, while Villa currently find themselves 14th in the league standings.
