John Terry reacts to what Conte has reportedly done at Spurs training ground
John Terry has reacted to an interesting decision Antonio Conte has reportedly made at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground.
The high-profile Italian took charge of Spurs last week.
Conte has replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham and with five top-flight league titles under his belt in Italy and England, the 52-year-old will be expected to win trophies in North London eventually.
The former Chelsea coach inherited a Lilywhites squad that were playing relatively awful.
And according to The Athletic, Conte has banned ketchup and mayonnaise at Hotspur Way in the belief that some players are heavier than they should be.
This is a man who Chelsea icon Terry knows well, having played for him at Stamford Bridge.
And the former centre-back has claimed that Conte got him fitter than anybody else in his career, in response to a tweet about The Athletic’s story.
Exciting
This could excite Spurs fans and very rightly so.
There doesn’t seem to be many – if any – Tottenham players carrying a ridiculous amount of excess weight, it has to be said.
But fitness is paramount and if a 30-something John Terry hit peak fitness levels under the Italian then it makes you wonder how much better younger players in North London could get during Conte’s reign.
