John Terry has stated in a blunt fashion on Instagram that Andreas Christensen ‘should have got up’ after claims the Chelsea players that he was fouled during the lead up to Aston Villa’s goal on Monday.
It was Christensen and Jack Grealish involved in the incident, with the Villa man getting back up after the challenge, playing the ball to Matty Cash, who whipped in a cross for Anwar El Ghazi to equalise.
Whilst the game didn’t have too many clear-cut chances, it was a fair result, with Villa moving up to fifth in the table and remaining level on points with sixth-placed Chelsea with two games in hand.
Chelsea legend Terry, who is now a coach at Villa, sent this message about yesterday’s draw and made his feelings clear about the Christensen foul claims.
Added with his Instagram message, in the comments section, Terry was told by a supporter that he would have been ‘raging’ at the manner in which Chelsea conceded their equaliser, as he issued this response.
‘He should have got up’.
Whilst questions are asked of Frank Lampard and where his team are heading after more dropped points, it’s another positive result and strong result from Villa.
One area is that Villa have improved massively in defence and Terry has played a huge part in that, with Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause all putting in top-quality displays this season.
