John McGinn was Aston Villa’s standout player last season as they won promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship play-offs.

John Terry has claimed that the Premier League won’t know what to expect with John McGinn next season as he backed Aston Villa’s ‘real talent’ to thrive.
Midfielder McGinn has been a revelation since he walked through the doors of Bodymoor Heath last summer, as he was a key part of Villa’s promotion success.
Centre-back Terry initially left Villa last summer when McGinn arrived, but he re-joined as a coach under Dean Smith in October.
The former Chelsea man spoke in awe of what it’s like working with the Scotland international, who won the Supporters and Players Player of the Year las season.
“What a player he is by the way,” said Terry, as quoted by the Herald. “He is a great lad. He gets that backside into people and rolls people! What a player he is and an absolute pleasure to work with.

“I missed him because I left and he signed, but then going in and working with him on a daily basis is great. He is an absolute gentleman, a real talent and I think he is going to take the Premier League by storm this year because people aren’t going to know what to expect.”
McGinn formed a strong partnership with playmaker Jack Grealish last season, and they will both be expected to make their mark in England’s top-flight.
If Smith’s side are to get off to a good start then they will be key to Villa’s success because if their midfield ticks then it’ll bode well for the rest of the team.
