John Terry admits he found something very intimidating when he first moved to Aston Villa

Aston Villa managed to snap up John Terry form Chelsea during the January transfer window.

John Terry has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports on 18th December, that he found it difficult walking into Aston Villa’s first-team initially.

Terry had spent his entire career at Chelsea before making the move to Villa Park in the summer.

And the 36-year-old centre-back admits that walking into a new dressing room was intimidating for him at first, despite all that he has achieved in football.

“Apart from the injury at the moment, it’s been everything [I was hoping for] and more,” Terry said.

“I wanted a new experience and challenge and probably one of the most intimidating things to me was talking into a new dressing room. I have been at Chelsea my whole career, so walking into a new dressing room was quite difficult.”

Terry may have found moving to Villa intimidating at first, but he has wasted no time making his presence known.

The former England international centre-back has already worn the armband for Villa, and is a key player for Steve Bruce’s side.

Terry has been out with injury recently, but he is edging closer to making a comeback now.

Terry is expected to come back into Villa’s starting line-up in the coming weeks, which will be a major boost for Bruce’s men’s promotion chances.

Villa are currently in fifth place, and are in the thick of a fight for a top two spot.
