The Wolverhampton Wanderers manager has worked wonders since taking over at Molineux in the summer.
Wolves stopper John Ruddy sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star yesterday, and opened up on how Nuno Espirito Santo is always keen to listen to his players’ opinions, both before and during games.
The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, 11 points clear of second placed Cardiff City, with promotion back to the Premier League looking like a mere formality.
Nuno deserves great credit for the manner in which he has galvanised Wolves as a football club, since taking over as manager in the summer.
Not only did he bring in some excellent talent, but he has also managed to change the mindset of the football club as a whole, transforming them into a group with a winning mentality.
Ruddy, who has impressed between the sticks this season, told the Express and Star how Nuno always wants to hear his players’ opinion both before and during games:
“The manager’s very vocal and is good at seeing those things. The changes more often than not come from him. He always asks before the game or at half time if we’ve got anything to add and if there is we have our say and let him know. But he’s very good at spotting that anyway – whatever you’re relaying he’s probably already seen. That’s a really good thing and signifies we’re all seeing the same picture.”
Next up for Wolves is a home game against Norwich City tonight, with Ruddy coming up against his former club, and it would take a brave man to bet against Nuno’s men chalking up another three points.
