Wolverhampton Wanderers currently sit at the top of the Championship table.
Wolves ace John Ruddy spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and highlighted his side’s lack of defeats this season as something that they should be extremely proud of, despite their poor recent run of form.
The Black Country outfit currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, three points clear of second placed Cardiff City, but perhaps more importantly, 10 ahead of third placed Aston Villa.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have experienced their problems over the past month, however – a run that has seen their lead at the top dwindle due to Cardiff’s impressive run of victories.
Ruddy spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and shared how important it has been for his side not to have lost back-to-back games at any point this season:
“Losing isn’t a nice feeling and when you haven’t done it that often – we’ve lost six games this year, which is a fantastic stat – it’s important not to lose two in a row. It continues some sort of momentum. You don’t want to be in a pattern of losing two or three, because that can become four or five. When you taste defeat you don’t want it to happen again and the fact we haven’t done that is really refreshing.”
Wolves got their season back on track with a comfortable 3-0 win over Reading on Tuesday night, and face a crucial game at home to Burton Albion today, where nothing less than a win will do, as Nuno’s men look to take another step towards promotion back to the Premier League.
