Young Spanish forward Rafa Mir joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Valencia at the start of January.
Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper John Ruddy has told The Express & Star that he is encouraged by the way that new signing Rafa Mir has settled at Molineux.
As ESPN reports, Wolves pulled off a coup by signing the 20-year-old forward on a four-and-a-half year deal from Valencia, ahead of Real Madrid, continuing to show their ambition in the transfer market.
So far, all Wolves fans have seen of Mir is two second-half substitute appearances in the 0-0 draws with Swansea City and Barnsley, but Ruddy has worked with the Spaniard at close quarters and has been impressed.
“He’s been good, it’s obviously difficult for a young lad coming over to England and experience a different culture and language,” The Express & Star quotes Ruddy as saying.
“He’s adapted really well, again much like the rest of the lads who joined in the summer. He’s been warmly welcomed and taken into the fold in the dressing room.
“I thought he made a really good contribution on Saturday when he came on.”
The youngster has little pressure on him to hit the ground running, with Wolves holding a 10-point lead at the top of the Championship, although top scorer Leo Bonatini has gone eight games without a goal.
Mir, who scored 15 goals in 19 games for Valencia’s ‘B’ team this season will be hoping to make his first start for Wolves when they travel to the Liberty Stadium for their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday.
